Boom
I got a text this morning from my friend Lee. He asked if I’d heard the news about the guy who wrote the song that’s been sweeping the world “Healer”. I hadn’t so he directed me Carlos’ Blog…I was speechless…honestly my stomach hurt. The guy that wrote the song had given testimony that he wrote it after being diagnosed with cancer and even went as far as to perform the song with an oxygen tube in his nose. Come to find out…he faked it all.
Here’s the truth…that song is TRUE and we need to pray that the writer Mike will know it more than ever in his life right now.
Pray for Hillsong, pray for the Church, and pray for Mike

All You Need is Love
John 13:34-35…
“A new command I give to you:Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
I work in full-time ministry. I would be lying if I said I’ve never been so caught up in what I do and where I’ve done it that I think people should know me because of the positions I’ve held and where I’ve held them. I know…lame, just being honest. For example…
I’ve been in the grocery store and someone will look at me or do a 2nd take. I would immediately think “oh they know me from church”. Seriously? Maybe they thought I had a funny haircut, maybe they thought I was starring at them, or the obvious thought they had “wow, he’s handsome.” :o)
This verse in John is such a great kick in the pants of how we should be known. If someone is going to recognize me in the grocery store I want it to be because I helped them change their tire on the side of the road. I want it to be because they saw me take a homeless guy to Waffle House and buy him lunch. I want to be known by my love so that I can be known as His.
Serious question here…does your life (not your job, house, car, or tatoo) say you are a disciple of Jesus, if not…it should.
favor to you,
nate

So perfect
I’ve been sitting here going in this crazy circle. I really wanted to write something deep and spiritual but I’d write a paragraph or 2 and hate it, so I’d delete it…I’ve done this about 5 times. I opened up my devotional and BAM!, there it was:
“The bravery in God trusting us! You say–”but He has been unwise to choose me, because there is nothing in me, I am not of any value.” That is why He chose you. As long as you think there is something in you, He cannot choose you because you have ends of your own to serve; but if you have let Him bring you to the end of your self-sufficiency then He can choose you to go with Him to Jerusalem, and that will mean the fulfillment of purposes which He does not discuss with you.”

Sunday Highlights
I’m about to fall asleep but I thought it’d be cool to let ya in on my Sunday morn…
- worship was awesome. God is doing something in the hearts of the congregation here at Mosaic
- i played bass and led worship…not always easy but always fun (wrong notes and all)
- felt like the team is really starting to feel the weight of our responsibility as leaders on Sunday
- in ear monitors are the best thing ever…except for when your battery goes out
- I was like 10 years older than the majority of my band this morning but they are 10 times as talented as me
- I love meeting new people who feel called to offer their gifting to further the vision that God put in our Pastor!
- I LOVE my church!!
Hope your Sundays were anything but normal…

My Sunday Select
“You Can Close Your Eyes” by James Taylor
Not a very known song by James but such a beautiful tune…some stand outs for me:
-the smoothness of his voice
-guitar and vocals is hard to pull off and he’s made himself a legend at doing it
-he has hair…a lot of it…and a sweet mustache
-Vocal riff at 1:51
-he messes up at the end but covers it SO WELL
Listening James Taylor is what made me want to play guitar and sing when I was 13. His music is comfort to me and always takes me to a really cool time of my life when I began to not just listen to music through my ears but I began to feel it as it sank deep into the fibers of my soul.
Happy Sunday,
nate
