Rob and I were back in town and were staying at Folly (we moved to Greenville). We miss seeing you and your precious family. Give my love to Carrie and the kids. I'm jumping on the Mom band wagon..Umm. did we take over your blog nate? But when Julie Young said the other night that she was challenging herself not to "escaper her kids" as their Stay At Home. I sort of had a heart check...and I only have one baby right now. So, yes, as a new mom, sort of new, I still say it's hard. But I think that being truly capable of seeing God at work in our lives and not giving into venting, griping, whining, mistrusting in the process is the greatest challenge... To truly wake up each morning & lay down our cross or our idols.... it's hard..to sincerely TRUST God each day.. and we are so equipped to do it; but we miss it so often. I miss it so often... I'm reading Ruthless Trust right now...if you can't tell. Funny. I’m jumping on the Mom band wagon..Umm. did we take over your blog nate? Although I usually don't have that problem as I do love to leave a blog comment! I would have to agree with both of you. Stay at home moms usually get the JUST before there description as in I am "JUST a stay at home mom" or I "just" stay home..yeah very little acknowledgement or respect even from ourselves..I think thats where finding ones validation and identity in Christ comes in.. for all of us..for men also...who tend to find validation in what they "do." it just can't work that way..AS for Predisdent of the U.S...thats a tough one..He definatley gets more outward repspect than a stay at home mom but there are probably similarities...hmm... 1) You can't really ever take a "sick" day..in either position 2) You can't not do your job just because you don't feel like it... although the consequences would be a little different for the SAHM vs. Mr. Pres... ha ha- peeping Tom’s. He can never please everyone, people are constantly trying to kill him, he can't go anywhere alone, he is responsible for the lives and safety of millions (how does he sleep at night?), people make fun of his wife and/or kids (poor Chelsea...), and that's probably just on a Monday. I'll stick to being a stay-at-home Mom. Well, since you stole my answer, I’d vote a close second place to being President of the United States. Yes, stay at home mom is a vast job that never stops, and for many, gets much too little respect or acknowledgment considering its scope and trials. Hopefully it has its good points all over the place, hopefully. Our hardest job, I believe, is to be kind to those we dislike, too somehow hold out a heart whose door is open, to those who we feel, dislike us, or hold us in disrespect. That is a job that can change the world. Good challenge there.
