Why?
I was talking through with my wife the other night about the song “Healer” and all the craziness that now goes along with it. Here is what really bothered me…
Satan has completely succeeded in the battle of pornography. He has everyone who struggles with it fooled to think they can’t tell anyone because of the repercussions. In the case of Mike G., fooled to the point that he would make up a lie like CANCER! to cover up the addiction!!!!! Think about it. If Mike Guglielmucci was interviewed saying, “yeah I really battle with porn and I came home one night, sat down, and wrote this song believing that God could heal me from this nightmare addiction” everyone would have cringed. I know porn is bad, I know it’s shameful, but Jesus is bigger than that crap and if you’ll be brave enough to fess up you’ll defeat the enemy and you’ll feel freedom like you never have!!! We need to start bringing this stuff into the light NOW Church so Satan won’t take down another one of our leaders with it.
join with me in the prayer,
nate

I did not know that was the reason behind this whole “Healer” scandal…just goes to prove we as men will do anything to hid the fact that we struggle with lust/porn. I remember something I heard a long time ago, as odd as it it, helps me when my eyes wander. It goes like this “No matter how beautiful she is, somewhere, someone is sick of her crap.”
I don’t completely agree with what Randy said, simply because we shouldn’t think of other people in such ways, but I guess whatever works for you.
The article however, I agree speaks truth, if he came out with the fact that he suffers from a porn-addiction i doubt his hit would be chart topping but I guess maybe in light of all that’s happened this will hopefully bring many other believers out of the chains of this sinful addiction and into path of righteousness with Jesus.

Scariest part about an addiction to lust is how many shades of grey I tried to put between myself and utter darkness. Fortunately God got in there and shined some light around. Thanks for being one of the few Christians who will open up their blog to a sin that has eaten away at the body of Christ for far too long.
btw, I’ve been out at the S’ville campus for a little while after switching from LP so wasn’t sure when you went to Mosaic, but I wanted to say thanks – my wife and I were a little unsure of the whole “church thing” back in ‘04, but your music helped us truly connect and open our hearts to God.
Sad, but so true! H
