Be the man pt.1
I know what your immediate reaction to that statement was, “but nate, you are already the man!”
)
The other day during my quiet time the Lord really got me with this verse in Deuteronomy 6:5-9:
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.
So, that what I’m doing. Being that they are 4 and 2 it gets a little challenging to hold their attention but I’m starting to put it in practice. That way when they are older it’s just part of what we do. I hope to start adding post on ways that I’m trying to implement this into my home on here…so keep me accountable!

Amen.,,and I believe it works, it stays deep in the soul forever. I believe a parents words to and over their children are so powerful (and I was not a walking christian but I was a believer of God)
A few words to you when you were little(not quite 4)
was ‘what you start, you finish’ and ‘never quit’ and as you grew older, ‘as a man thinketh, so he is’ (I put this on paper and put it in your wallet)
(This story quickly came to my mind to share?) it was the summer between your 8th and 9th grade year, you wanted more than anything to be in the JrROTC and you had to attend ‘bootcamp’ 100 plus kids, boys and girls and at the end was a timed event to be in the top 5, only 48 qualified and you were in the 48. That last morning. The event was running, pushups etc. and you were worried that you weren’t good enough or would run out of steam. I reminded you not to quit and when you felt that you could not do one more push up, that you thought you would fall flat, to take a minute and to ask God for a second wind, more strength and all I remember after that was an awards banguet and you being one of the final five.
