Much Needed…

Got this in the mail today. I can’t tell you how much I needed it…

To the person who followed the prompting of the Holy Spirit to pray for me and even write me a card and snail mail it….I say thank YOU!

Here’s what it said:

“you were prayed for today. The Lord prompted me to intercede for you because He loves you. He sees your hard work even if others don’t. He sees your frustrations but other don’t. He knows you’re tired when others don’t. He hears your wondering heart and says “stop wondering”; I am the way the truth and the light. Psalm 119:147- I rise early before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in Your word. Be encouraged!! Rock it out and keep bringin’ it on Sunday mornings. Your church loves you-good days and bad”

That last line put me in tears. Person, because of your card I worshipped the Lord….thank you thank you thank you!!

Blog-Friendships

I entered the blog world 9 months ago. I’ve had my moments about cultivating real community online but in the past few months I’ve become a believer. One friendship comes to mind that has helped me cross over.

Rich is a Worship Leader in Southern Cali who I’ve never met in person. I started following his blog not long after I got into blogging and I emailed him once asking him a leadership question. Since then we’ve began to talk more, comment on each-others blogs, and I would say now that he has become a friend of mine. He’s become a guy I bounce questions about leadership off of, we’ve talked philosophy of worship and church, and just in the past 2 weeks he has im’d me saying he’s praying for me after some bad days I twittered about.

I will now forever argue the fact that YOU CAN build REAL friendships through blogging. If you’ve never been before, go visit Rich and say hello!

Friends

Had a meeting today with Chris and Mack from Elevation. Since our offices are like 45 minutes away from eachother we had an ichat meeting…I love technology. Here are few screenshots from the meeting:

As you can see the meeting started well…a lot of interest

about 30 minutes in silliness started to grab hold, plus I told them I was taking a picture

by the time 45 minutes passed, Chris and I found our ichat effects, Mack realized he didn’t have Leopard and had no ichat effects and started calling Chris and I lame (just jealous it’s fine), and the meeting was officially over.

C’mon we’re “creative types”. Everyone knows we don’t last longer than 45 minutes in a meeting!!

I love the relationship the Lord is allowing our 2 churches to have in Charlotte, even more than that our Worship Depts, and WAY more than that our friendships!!

Kingdom minded baby!!

Fun on the Road

The Big Gift

About 2-3 weeks ago my wife and I were laying in bed talking. I was telling her how I’d been asking myself the question, “have I made a difference?”. You see, we are approaching the end of our time here in Charleston and at Seacoast. The Lord is moving us on up the road to an amazing city in North Carolina called Charlotte (I’ll blog more on this at a later time). As this move approaches I’m looking back over my time and wondering if I’ve been influencing, impacting, and inspiring people for God’s Kingdom. My wife, hearing her husband lament, got a beautiful idea for a gift.

It is a leather bound book. The pages are filled with pictures from the the past and letters from friends about how I’ve made a difference in their life. It took me about 2 minutes of reading before the tears came. It’s the most beautiful gift I’ve received and it’s something I’ll cherish for my lifetime. I thank Jesus for the life He is giving me everyday. For the people I get to share life with, teach, and be taught. If you are reading this and were a part of submitting a letter…Thank You. Your words have filled me to overflowing and have excited me to go into the next season with new faces to meet and new souls to change.

Most of all I thank my wife. Carrie, I could never put into words how you’ve made YOUR man feel. You heard the hurt and questions of the man you love and instead of hoping I’ll pull out of a funk, you went and did something about it. With a beautiful gift you have built me up to a stronger man and have pushed me forward into a better leader for our family and the family of Christ. Thank You.

Thanks to everyone who’s reading this and have shared in a moment of my life I’ll never forget.
