My Sunday Select
“You Can Close Your Eyes” by James Taylor
Not a very known song by James but such a beautiful tune…some stand outs for me:
-the smoothness of his voice
-guitar and vocals is hard to pull off and he’s made himself a legend at doing it
-he has hair…a lot of it…and a sweet mustache
-Vocal riff at 1:51
-he messes up at the end but covers it SO WELL
Listening James Taylor is what made me want to play guitar and sing when I was 13. His music is comfort to me and always takes me to a really cool time of my life when I began to not just listen to music through my ears but I began to feel it as it sank deep into the fibers of my soul.
Happy Sunday,

My Sunday Select
Up this Sunday, The Beatles, “Let it Be”
No words need to be said really but I’ll point out a few of my favs about this vid…
- Paul’s beard rules
- how effortlessly he sings this song makes me ache to be that talented
- the fact that they are recording live with no headphones…talent
- Paul making love to the camera
- the fact that this was their last record and Yoko is sitting next to John…symbolism
- this guy playing organ at 2:01
- George’s guitar solo. There’s something to be said about a simple, tasteful solo
- John is playing bass
- the timelessness of this song
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I…

My Sunday Select
On Sundays I’m going to start posting You Tube vids of some of my favorite music selections. This week…
The Four Seasons, Dec. 1963 (Oh what a Night)
The talent in this group is ridiculous. First you’ve got Frankie Valli as your front man, but then to see the talent not only vocally but instrumentally as well, within the rest of the group…wow. Check out the bass riff while finishing his vocal line @ 1:43.
